Revolutionizing Civil Rights Advocacy in Pinal County

About Us
The Pinal County NAACP (Branch #1012-B) serves as a powerful voice for civil rights, racial justice, and equitable opportunity across Central Arizona. We are rooted in a legacy of activism, advocacy, and community-building—committed to uplifting Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color through civic education, environmental justice, and policy change.
Our Legacy of Impact:
Environmental Justice in Randolph:
In the historically Black community of Randolph, we led the fight against the expansion of SRP’s gas-fired power plant. Citing environmental racism and public health threats, our advocacy efforts—alongside local residents—resulted in the Arizona Corporation Commission rejecting the expansion in 2022.
Civic Engagement & Voter Empowerment:
We have hosted public town halls and candidate forums in partnership with the Arizona Democratic Black Caucus and other community leaders. These events educate voters, amplify Black voices, and build political power rooted in community.

Key Highlights
Advocacy Programs
The Pinal County NAACP’s advocacy programs tackle systemic inequities head-on, focusing on the issues that most directly impact our community’s quality of life. We champion policies that protect voting rights, promote fair housing, expand access to quality healthcare, and ensure equitable education for all. Through strategic partnerships, public policy campaigns, and community mobilization, we address injustices at both the local and state level. Our legal advocacy initiatives connect residents with outside attorneys to fight discrimination, defend civil liberties, and navigate complex legal challenges. Ww DO NOT represent you in legal matters. Every program is designed to amplify community voices, hold decision-makers accountable, and turn grassroots concerns into legislative change.
Community Outreach
The Pinal County NAACP’s community outreach is action-driven and people-focused, meeting residents where they are to build lasting change. We host voter registration drives and voter education forums to strengthen civic participation and protect the right to vote. Through NAACP membership campaigns, we grow our network of advocates ready to stand for justice. Our housing initiatives connect families to resources for stable, affordable living, while our health events address disparities through screenings, education, and prevention programs. We also organize Legal Advocacy Days, bringing together community members and participating lawyers to provide free legal guidance on issues from housing rights to workplace protections. Every effort is grounded in the belief that informed, connected, and supported communities are the foundation of equity and justice.
Educational Initiatives
The Pinal County NAACP’s educational approach is rooted in the belief that strong youth and strong families create strong communities. We provide programs that equip young people with the knowledge of their history, the skills to lead, and the confidence to speak truth to power. Through mentorship, culturally responsive learning, and leadership development, we prepare the next generation to navigate and challenge inequitable systems. We also engage families as partners in education—offering resources, workshops, and advocacy training that strengthen the home-to-school connection and build networks of support. By working together across generations, we ensure that our youth are not only academically prepared but also grounded in identity, resilience, and a shared commitment to justice.
